The Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong (BPA) today (June 21) held a “Youth Job Fair” at Tai Ming Lane Plaza to provide young people with employment and summer internship opportunities.
Companies participating in the Fair included Qianhai International Liaison Services, HKBC Media, Century 21, HealthWorks, Taipan Bread & Cakes, Goodwell Property Management, and many other organisations, which collectively provided over 2,000 job places and summer internship opportunities for youths to choose from.
Distinguished guests attending the event comprised, among others, Mr. Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Mr. Cheung Hok-ming, Chairman of Tai Po District Council; Mr. Witman Hung Wai-man, Principal Liaison Officer for Hong Kong of the Qianhai Authority; Mr. Christopher Cheung Wah-fung, BPA Vice Chairman and Legislative Councilor; and Mr. Thomas Cheung Chun-yung, Convenor of the BPA District Committee.
In his address, Mr. Christopher Cheung described the job fair as an exemplary model of the BPA’s efforts to translate its vision into community work as encapsulated in its motto “Business and professionalism improve livelihood”. He also expressed the hope that this exercise would play a useful part in promoting opportunities for businesses to recruit talented and skilled workers.
