The Spring Dinner of the Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong (BPA) was held today (6 March) in Beijing. More than 100 guests attended the dinner, including Mr. CY Leung, Chief Executive, Mr. Qiao Xiaoyang, Chairman of National People’s Congress (NPC) Law Committee, Mr. Yang Chonghui, Chairman of the CPPCC Subcommittee for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Compatriots and Overseas Chinese, Mr. Lu Xinhua, spokesman of the second session of the 12th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, Ms Yin Xiaojing, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Mr Zhang Rongshun, Chairperson of the Basic Law Committee, as well as NPC Deputies and CPPCC members and other HKSAR government officials.
Mr Andrew Leung, Chairman of the Alliance, expressed his thanks and gratitude to attending guests and also took the opportunity of extending to them his best wishes for the Chinese New Year. He said, “The BPA will continue to strive for excellence in our work at the district level, on youth development and to contribute to the co-operation and prosperity of both Mainland and Hong Kong.”
During the dinner, guests exchanged greetings and extended their warm wishes to the future growth of the BPA. BPA Vice-chairman, Mr. Jeffery Lam, also thanked the guests for their presence and expressed hope for continuing support to the BPA from Mainland and Hong Kong government officials, as well as NPC Deputies and CPPCC members. He also stressed that the BPA would do its utmost to facilitate Hong Kong’s economic and social development, as well as in promoting Mainland-Hong Kong co-operation to lay the foundation of a better society for our next generation.
