BPA Attends Joint Meeting with FS and Submits Proposals to “Stimulate economy, Support SMEs, Support Hong Kong”

As the Occupy Central Movement has adversely affected the economy and local sentiment, the Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong (BPA) together with other representatives from the travel and tourism, retail and catering, automobile, and securities sectors met today (December 17) with the Financial Secretary, Mr John Tsang Chu-wah, to submit proposals on stimulating the economy, sustaining small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and supporting Hong Kong.

It has been reported that some scholars have initiated the Occupy Central movement, one of the actions of which is to call for more than 10 000 people to block the roads in Central next year (the road occupation action), with the intent to force the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Central Government to accept the proposal for universal suffrage recognised by these people.
