BPA 9-Point Proposal at the 2015 CPPCC Session on the future development of Hong Kong and the Mainland.

The annual Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened in Beijing yesterday (Mar 3). Four members of the Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong (BPA) put forward a total of nine proposals, which touched on such issues as youth upward mobility, environmental protection, the role of Hong Kong in the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, financial market ties between Hong Kong and China, and other matters of public concern.

In addition to the proposals submitted to the CPPCC, the BPA will continue to follow up on other initiatives that are currently in progress. These include the promotion of bilateral cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong as discussed during our visit to Shanghai in September last year with the local leaders, who have been very enthusiastic and supportive.

In the meantime, BPA will continue to serve as bridge in promoting multifaceted cooperation through such means as professional exchanges and economic partnerships between Hong Kong and the Mainland.

For details on the proposals (available in Chinese only) made by BPA members at the CPPCC 2015 Annual Sessions, please visit the BPA website.
