The BPA’s Legislative Council members said the 10th anniversary commemorative album of the BPA was rich in content, capturing all memorable moments of its development.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the HKSAR and the 10th anniversary of the BPA, a commemorative album entitled “Walking Together and Building a Better Home in Hong Kong” was duly published. The album captures important events in the history of the BPA since its establishment ten years ago, and also expresses the BPA’s best wishes for the steadfast and successful implementation of “One Country, Two Systems”. The album, full of texts and pictures introducing the BPA’s ten-year history in simple terms, was applauded by political and business leaders alike. They said that the album acted as an “encyclopedia” for a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the BPA.

Dr. Peter Lam, a Standing Committee Member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the BPA’s Executive Committee Chairman, served as the chairman of the editorial committee of the commemorative album. In the preface, Dr. Lam mentioned that the album had enshrined the deep blessings of the BPA towards Hong Kong in maintaining its prosperity and stability. The album also carried the BPA’s hope for the steadfast and successful implementation of “One Country, Two Systems” that it would remain unchanged after fifty years. Over the past ten years, the BPA adopted the concept of “business driving the economy, professionals improving livelihood” and provided advice and suggestions on the development of Hong Kong. The BPA also spoke for the business community and shared the same path with the general public. Dr. Lam greatly appreciated the support and love for the BPA from various sectors. While the 10th anniversary signified a new stage for the BPA, he looked forward to working closely with all sectors in facilitating Hong Kong’s integration into the overall national development. The BPA believed by leveraging its advantages to serve the country’s needs, Hong Kong would become a better home for all people.

The commemorative album records the history of the alliance since its inception ten years ago, reviewing each important moment of its development. The album is divided into two sections. The first section includes a large number of valuable historical photos which capture significant events of the BPA in the past ten years. The second section collects a series of BPA research reports including various policy recommendations to the government, such as identifying lands for housing construction, promoting diversified industrial development, implementation of youth work, caring for the community, and integrating into the overall national development. Altogether they make the album more memorable, which is now available in major bookstores in Hong Kong. Political and business leaders applauded the album and were delighted to keep it as an “encyclopedia” of the BPA.
